BRIDGESTONE FUNDRAISING
Welcome to the Jr. Predator's tryouts.
Players are nervous, excited and have prepared to accept the challenge of the Nashville Jr. Predator's Ice Hockey tryouts. From all levels, parents encourage and support their player, excitedly hoping they are good enough to make the team while fearing that they are indeed, good enough to make the team. There is a large time and financial commitment to one of the most challenging programs in youth sports. The Jr. Predator's program wants to ensure that any player, who is able to play at this level, should not be denied the opportunity due to their inability to pay. In an effort to compensate for this, our program has a fundraising committee. These individuals have dedicated their time and efforts to aid in coordination of programs for teams and individuals to raise money for the scholorship program, program and charitable events. One of these options is coordinated through Bridgestone Arena and DNC Sportservice.
DNC Sportservice recruits nonprofit organizations to run their food/beer stands selling items such as hotdogs, pizza and beer and earn a 50.00 per person plus a percentage. In addition, there are portables such as Dippin Dots, BBQ Nacho stands and beer portables to allow the organization to earn money for their group of $50.00 plus tips. Currently, some organizations working the program have earned as much as $40,000.00 in a year's time. Wilson Central Ice Hockey Team, the only other hockey team currently working the venue, last season earned over $11,000 and counting.
The contracts are signed in August and Predator's games are a large percentage of what will be worked; however options for concerts and other venues are presented throughout the year. You can work as many or as few as you want, but are compensated for the same. A schedule of monthly events is provided for signups through an experienced coordinator.
In a nutshell, it is hard work and a time commitment (7 to 8 hours for a Predator's game), but overall worth it fun!
